Volleyball Skill Levels
Recreational (Level C) - a recreational player is generally a beginner. These players may still be learning the rules, techniques and flows of the game. They enjoy the game and typically play recreationally, or non-competitively.
Level B - A level B player is slightly more advanced than a beginner. These players understand the game and are able to perform some of the necessary skills required to be successful. These players may compete on low-level club or recreational teams.
Level BB - Level BB players have a great understanding of the game and its objectives. They’re comfortable on the court and know where to be at all times. Level BB players possess several of the skills needed to be successful in a competitive environment. These players often play competitively and typically have in depth knowledge of offensive and defensive game play.
Level A - Level A players are above average competitive players. These individuals may possess the skills needed to play professionally. They have in depth knowledge of offensive and defensive game play, and use advanced strategies to be successful. Level A players are typically in excellent physical condition and are able to compete at a high level.
Level AA/Olympic - Very advanced professional players are considered Level AA, or Olympic skilled. They compete at the highest professional level and often represent their country in global competition. These very advanced players have in depth knowledge of offensive and defensive game play, use advanced strategies to be successful, and are able to perform at the highest levels for an extended period of time. Level AA players are in superior physical condition and lead their sport in performance and competition.
